Azzaro's new start

Azzaro has appointed Mathilde Castello Branco as its new creative director. The designer, who previously worked with Albert Elbaz and Lanvin unveil her first designs for french label in january for pre-autumn/winter 20012/13.

'I don't want fashion to be only for women or only to please men. I want them both to be happy" told WWD, hinting at her future work for the brand.

Branco takes over from Vanessa Seward, an assistant to house founder Loris Azzaro. In addition to Lanvin, the designer also worked with Hermes under Martin Margela. Azzaro, founded in 1967, has been worn by Raquel Welch, Sofia Loren, Penelope Cruz and Nicole Kidman.
